2021 ACOM Graduation Ceremony

Saturday, 7th August @ 9:00 am - 1:30 pm


Each year ACOM students graduate in the Sydney College of Divinity (SCD) graduation ceremony held at the Great Hall, Sydney University. This is always a memorable occasion for both graduates and their families and friends as it incorporates times of worship, a short address and the conferral of Diplomas and Degrees to students. The Australian College of Ministries Marquee is located on the University Lawn and is your go-to location for graduation information on the day.

Please know that this event will be planned in accordance to updated COVID-19 regulations, and may be subject to change.

Students are expected to arrive and check in with ACOM staff outside the Great Hall from 9:00am. From here you will be directed pick up your pre-ordered academic regalia from the Sydney University Uniform Shop (see academic dress section below), you will then return to the ACOM Marquee to be fitted with your SCD Hood or Stole before being directed towards the Great Hall antechamber before 10:00am for your pre-ceremony instructions.

Academic Dress
Gowns and Trenchers (hats) can be hired directly from University of Sydney Store website. Gowns and Trenchers (hats) can be hired directly from University of Sydney Store and collected on Saturday morning from 8am and returned that afternoon by 1pm.

Please visit the University Store website here to purchase or hire your regalia through Sydney University to complete the booking.

When you are completing this form please choose the “I need to hire for a different occasion” option and the College/University/Organisation should be “Sydney College of Divinity”. When you fill in your online form it will give you options to select a fitting appointment time. Please ensure you type the Graduation date and time, and the time selection drop down as 9:00am-1:00pm. You will then pick what you would like to rent or purchase and continue onto the next page where you will then pay for it online.

Please do not hire a hood or stole from the Sydney University Uniform Store, you will hire this directly from ACOM (see below).

Please remember you will need to return any hired item by 1:00pm. The Gowns and Trenchers (hats) to the Sydney Store and the hired hoods and stoles to ACOM staff.

The Great Hall main entrance will be opened for Guests to enter by 11am, prior to this time guests will need to wait outside. Students are allowed up to three guests, please contact us should you wish to bring more guests. There is no reserved seating for guests and seats inside the Great Hall are limited.

Post Ceremony Morning Tea
After the Graduation ceremony there will be morning tea provided for you and your guests at the ACOM Marquee on the lawn. Come along for some complementary drinks and nibbles as you celebrate the completion of your studies.

ACOM organises a professional photographer for after the ceremony so you will have some beautiful photos to remember the day. These photos will be available for free to download after the ceremony from a secure online gallery accessed only by graduates and ACOM. Please note that if you would like to take part in this, these photos may be used by ACOM in the future. If you do not want your photo used by ACOM for marketing purposes, we ask that you do not have your photo taken.

To graduate, you will need to ensure that all ACOM fees have been paid. If you have any outstanding payments please contact the ACOM team to arrange payment.

Please note that more information regarding Graduation day will be communicated to graduating students leading up to the event.
