Audit

Interested in learning but short on time? Auditing study units can be a great way to boost your professional knowledge and skills without committing to an academic unit with assignments.

What is auditing?

Many ACOM units have the option to audit (access) the online study materials, and/or to attend the facilitations (both partial and full attendance). This gives both students and visitors the flexibility to learn more in an area of interest, either as an unaccredited experience, or to hold for future credit.

There are two types of audit experience:

  • Standard Audit: Available to students and guests who are looking to learn about different topics without academic credit.
  • Audit for Future Credit: Limited to students currently enrolled in an ACOM course.

Standard Audit

Audit is available to students and guests who are looking to learn about different topics without academic credit.

Through this option you experience:

  • Gain access to the high-quality learning our students experience
  • No applications
  • No assignments

You can choose to pay for access to materials and/or facilitations, or take the full learning experience with access to both.

Note audit is an unaccredited option. If you are a student interested in holding your audit experience as credit please see Audit for Future Credit.

Material access provides audits with our unit content and materials through a login to our online learning platform (Moodle). This access is the same as what our students see, minus the assignment submission points. Access is granted during the relevant study period, so please check our key dates.

Note that facilitation access is not automatically included when purchasing material access, so please ensure to add this if interested in attending.

Run by experienced leaders, educators, and practitioners in their fields of study, facilitations are an opportunity for students to learn alongside others in a dynamic environment of enquiry and exploration. Facilitations can be scheduled in regular classes, or events run over individual or consecutive days.

In person facilitations provide a physical space to strengthen skills by gathering like-minded local individuals together to learn and network together. These events can be run in a variety of locations across Australia and are run according to local time-zones.

Online facilitations provide flexible learning options for students nationwide, by giving them the ability to interact with facilitators and learners from across Australia from their devices. These events are run digitally on Zoom in AEST time-zone (or AEDT during daylight savings).

Audits can elect to purchase tickets for partial or full attendance to facilitations. However, please ensure you check the schedules for the unit to see whether full facilitations are required for group participation. Professional development certificates are available on completion by request.

Note that material access is not automatically included when purchasing facilitation access, so please ensure to add this if interested in reading the materials.
