This unit is focused upon Human Resource Management dimensions of organisational life – especially as it relates to the unique circumstances that arise in churches and not-for-profit organisations. It is intended to be taken by students who are not HR professionals but are nonetheless routinely involved in HR related matters. It does not assume specific prior knowledge of HR concepts or legal matters.
The unit is based around the Employee Life cycle whereby students are introduced to a variety of HR related matters such as attraction and recruitment, onboarding and development, progression and performance, retention and exiting. Understanding these matters will assist students to grow in their leadership skills, team management, and engagement in staffing related matters.
