Board & Governance

Our board of directors is composed of distinguished and dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our institution. They are committed to guiding ACOM towards excellence in theological education and leadership devlopment. They include leaders from various fields, including theology, ministry, economics, education, counselling, and business. Their collective expertise ensures that ACOM remains at the forefront of providing high-quality, holistic training for future ministry leaders.

Together, our board members are united by a shared commitment to ACOM’s vision and values. They strive to create an environment where future ministry leaders can thrive, ensuring that our institution remains a leader in theological education and spiritual growth. Their dedication and leadership are instrumental in guiding ACOM towards achieving its mission of equipping and inspiring the next generation of ministry leaders.

Anne Simpson

Anne has held roles in areas of ministry, theological education and communications and is currently serving in senior leadership with churches of Christ in NSW and ACT. She is also a board director for the Council of Churches of Christ in Australia.

Aaron Mitchell

Aaron is a passionate executive leader with extensive experience in the Not-For-Profit sector having worked in areas of organisational transformation, financial reporting and management, corporate governance, and operational leadership. He holds a Master of Theology and a Master of Business Administration. He is actively involved with his local church serving in many roles. This blend of academia and on-the-ground ministry has birthed a passion for caring and developing emerging leaders amongst the challenges of today’s church environment.

Daniel Yeung

Treasurer

Daniel joins the Board with extensive experience in finance and higher education. Daniel is currently serving as the National Treasurer for the Christian and Missionary Alliance, in addition to a directorship with the Alliance Development Fund. Daniel is also currently a lecturer in Accounting Information Systems with Western Sydney University.


Qualifications Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Bachelor of Business Administration (Management), Master of Accounting (Honours), GradDip in Information Systems, Doctor of Philosophy (Candidate)

John Sharpe

John participates on the ACOM board with a wealth of local church ministry experience having served in these settings for over 30 years. John has also previously served in the Board of Stirling Theological College including a term as Board Chair.

Ken Graham

Ken participates on the Board with over 31 years of ministry experience with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) and serves as the current President for C&MA.

Ken also serves the Alliance Development fund, is a director of CAMA Services Overseas Aid Fund, as well as a NSW Police Chaplain.


Qualifications Diploma in Structural Engineering, Diploma in Theology, Certificate IV Family Counselling, Bachelor of Ministry

Prof Michael Adams

Michael brings a wealth of experience to his board role by way of being a leading expert in corporate law and governance. Michael has also served as a church leader with over 25 years of Christian ministry experience. Michael is currently the Provost for the University of New England.

Rev Dr Peter Carblis

Peter has had a varied career in pastoral ministry, chaplaincy, and education at school, vocational and higher educational levels. He has worked, often concurrently, in practitioner, executive and governance roles that have included school founder, church pioneer, senior and support pastoral leader, teacher, school principal, and college principal. He is currently a member of the executive of the Association for Practical Theology in Oceania (APTO), the Morling College Academic Board. For a several years in the 1990s Peter conducted a top-rating talk-back radio program called “Street Talk” on 2GO, a NSW Central Coast local radio station.

Rick Lewis

Chair

Rick Lewis is the Chair of ACOM and comes with over 30 years of experience in local church pastoring with Churches of Christ. In addition, Rick as a seasoned mentor currently serving over 60 senior Christian leaders in Australia, the UK, Europe and Asia.
