Start a Learning Cohort

Our Learning Cohort pathway is designed for those churches and organisations who are looking to develop a more integrated learning environment for ministry training and development.

What is a Learning Cohort?

Learning cohorts are a more hands on approach where ACOM works closely with cohort facilitators to tailor the learning experience to meet the focus of the particular cohort. Each cohort is uniquely different, having its own emphasis, flavour and style based on the context of the chosen situation.

We believe that the best place for a student to learn is in their local ministry setting or place of mission. For this reason ACOM seeks to develop intentional and strategic partnerships with local churches, bible colleges, schools and other Christian organisations.

As an ACOM Partner you can engage in a custom designed training pathway for your organisation at either Diploma, Degree or Masters level. We are committed to helping you find the best approach to training and ministry development that meets your needs.

Many of our Learning Cohorts start with the Diploma of Ministry which is designed specifically to:

  • Provide a solid foundation for those serious about a future in ministry
  • Deliver essential Bible knowledge, theology and practical ministry skills
  • Support churches and students to be effective in their current ministry context
  • Provide practical assessments to support your ministry context
  • Students complete vital ministry projects and obtain credit towards their qualification
  • Potential for major ministry projects, mission trips, camps and/or retreats to be built into the course experience
  • Equivalent to 1 year of a Bachelor of Ministry or Theology

Across the year, Learning Cohorts studying the Diploma of Ministry will engage in the four following introductory core units:
