ACOM Welcomes Churches of Christ in Queensland into Membership
The Australian College of Ministries (ACOM) is delighted to officially welcome Churches of Christ in Queensland (CofCQ) into Membership (ownership) of the College. This significant step reflects CofCQ’s alignment with ACOM’s bold vision to be the national training college for both Churches of Christ and the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Australia.
This exciting development follows the decision of Churches of Christ in Victoria and Tasmania, who joined ACOM as Members in 2024. With the inclusion of CofCQ, ACOM takes another stride toward its goal of becoming a truly national and collaborative theological college, deeply embedded in the life and future of the church across the country.
CofCQ’s decision represents a re-entry into the ACOM family, rekindling a longstanding historical relationship. Their involvement brings renewed energy, particularly in the area of church planting, where CofCQ has demonstrated strong leadership and a passion for raising new generations of ministry leaders.
Mr Nigel King, Chair of the CofCQ Board, expressed his support for the move:
“This is a natural and obvious step for Churches of Christ in Queensland. We have watched ACOM grow into a national, collaborative and Spirit-led provider of theological education. We believe this partnership positions us to better equip leaders for the future church.”
Mr Neale Meredith, Principal and CEO of ACOM, welcomed the decision with enthusiasm:
“We are thrilled to welcome Churches of Christ in Queensland back into the ACOM family. Their passion for church planting and mission is a powerful addition to our shared vision of equipping leaders who will shape the church in the decades ahead.”
ACOM remains committed to serving the breadth of the Australian church with a Christ-centred, biblically grounded, and mission-focused approach to education. The inclusion of CofCQ as a Member marks a new chapter of collaboration, unity, and shared purpose.
