Learning cohorts are a more hands on approach where ACOM works closely with cohort facilitators to tailor the learning experience to meet the focus of the particular cohort. Each cohort is uniquely different, having its own emphasis, flavour and style based on the context of the chosen situation.

We believe that the best place for a student to learn is in their local ministry setting or place of mission. For this reason, ACOM seeks to develop intentional and strategic partnerships with local churches, denominations, bible colleges, schools and other Christian organisations.

ACOM provides a fully accredited study pathway for students, with a flexible framework for adding extra-curricular ministry activities and resources to complement core content according to a cohort’s particular learning needs. Cohort facilitators will provide supervised ministry opportunities, retreats and fieldwork experiences, facilitated learning and pastoral support.

As an ACOM partner, you can engage in a custom designed training pathway for your organisation at either diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate level. We are committed to helping you find the best approach to training and ministry development that meets your needs.

Many of our learning cohorts begin with the Diploma of Ministry. Blending practical ministry with theological study, this eight unit award can be completed in one year full-time. The emphasis is on giving students a hands on learning experience that is grounded in the ministry context of their learning cohort.

In their Diploma of Ministry, students will study:

• Spiritual Formation
• Introduction to Christian Doctrines
• Introduction to the Old Testament or Introduction to the New Testament
• Introduction to Pastoral Care or Introduction to Discipleship
• Two practical ministry units, such as Supervised Ministry, Personal Evangelism, Youth Ministry, Christian Leadership and more
• Two elective units

ACOM also has a wide range of other awards, from Diploma through to Masters level, that can be utilised by your learning cohort.
