Leader’s Guide
Have you ever wondered what Churches of Christ is all about? This study guide is designed to help Churches of Christ congregations answer this question. Movement and Identity contains six studies and is designed to assist leaders lead conversations with a small group. The six studies follow core principles that shape Churches of Christ as a movement.

This study was designed as a collaborative work with eight Churches of Christ ministers over a period of 6 months. Each minister offered a different perspective on the theology and practice of Churches of Christ. Their work aimed to assist participants to explore what we could say together about God, and how God calls us to participate in mission.

Each study, including the introduction, has a QR code at the top of the page that links to a video of Mark Riessen introducing the themes for the study. It is designed to offer group leaders all the information they need to facilitate a conversation with members of their congregation.

The study is for anyone who serves in a leadership capacity with a Churches of Christ congregation. It can also be used for general small group ministries where a group is curious to learn more about Churches of Christ and how these principles call us to participate in God’s mission.

Participant Workbook
The Movement and Identity participant workbook is a companion to the blue study guide. It was created after the study was evaluated by members of Churches of Christ congregations who said they would appreciate a workbook with highlights about the theme being presented, and space to make notes.

The participant workbook contains highlights of the six themes to be explored. Each study, including the introduction, has a QR code at the top of the page that links to a video of Mark Riessen introducing the themes for the study. Participants can take this workbook with them so they can reflect on the practices and questions between meetings and make notes about what they are learning.

As a companion to the blue study guide, the participant workbook will help anyone who is curious about Churches of Christ. It is an easy access workbook to assist participants to put their knowledge into practice.
